GIVE THE SWIRL A WHIRL

Il Papiro helped make Florentine handmade papers popular stateside when they opened a New York store twenty five years ago. Before that, those that traveled to Firenze would visit their Via Cavore store and stock up, bringing back picture frames, desk accessories and journals. They helped create the craze for all things marble, and no desk was complete without a matching desk set. The marbleized pattern has made a comeback and now graces more than just paper.

I feel like I am back in Florence where I bought every swirled bit of paper I saw. Punch Studio's Mini Notebooks with a Monogram from Touch of Europe are so chic and just the thing to pull out of your tote to jot a note.

Wow...the stationary is really special. How lovely for someone to receive a handwritten letter in such a lovely envelope.

What fun! Love all your picks but am DYING over the Ruzzetti and Gow platter. Reminds me just a bit of the beautiful apt ware that Charlotte Moss used to carry.

Faux Marble--so much better than the real thing when a pop is needed.

Marisa,
I am honored you included my lampshades. My love for handmade marble paper has gone back for 25 years. I love using it on lampshades.
Thank you again, your blog is beautiful.

I once had a client's closet/dressing room entirely covered with sheets of marbleized paper from Il Papiro; she had seen it done in an Italian palazzo and wanted to duplicate the effect. It was dazzling if I do say.

I make my own lampshades and always buy the paper at Il Papiro! The light just takes a special glow when shining thru those marbled swirls. I'm now swooning over the top orange and navy lampshade... wondering what room chez moi I could implement this into!

I may just have to get myself some of Bell'Invito hand-engraved stationery...gorgeous memo!
