Brunschwig and Fils just bought Hinson and Company. So, what does this mean? Well, B and F will be absorbing Hinson into their showrooms, and Harry Hinson will stay on as the director of design. This will be a merging of the best traditional design, with Brunschwig's preppy stalwart prints and Hinson's classic lighting, Mrs.Macdougall furniture, accessories including Roy Hamilton pottery , and fabric lines, like Sister Parish. There will be a "carefully designed and separate Hinson space", so the brand will be distinct, like a boutique within the showroom. Hinson lighting is well known for their iconic swing arm sconce and lamp, often seen flanking upholstered headboards in well decorated homes hither and yon. Now, they will be getting an even wider following now that B and F will be expanding to Paris, London and Melbourne. I hope this signals a strengthening of Brunschwig, as they have been struggling and I want to see them succeed-- where else can you find such bold and beautiful neo-traditional signature prints?
Thank you for sharing.
ReplyDeleteI think B&F and Hinson will make a perfect pair. LOVE those swing arm lamps, one of my all time faves for classic projects.
