PARIS IN THE SPRINGTIME

Spring is here, and along with it comes thoughts of flowers, and the need for a new fragrance. With a blown glass faceted bottle and antique looking crackled bottle stopper, the new high design Balenciaga Perfume ad caught my eye. An hourglass, urn and green shoots from a spring bloom are stylishly arranged and the bottle sits center stage as though it were an antiquity that emerged from the past.

I am a pushover when it comes to beautiful bottles filled with floral scents. With the avant garde yet feminine Nicolas Ghesquière taking the legendary French fashion house forward, his new Balenciaga scent expresses that je ne sais quoi French women possess. It’s the brand’s first major launch since Cristobal in 1998, and a beautiful, ethereal one. With violet as the major note the combination is natural, green, and fresh. The other notes are bergamot, spices, pepper, carnation, oakmoss, cedar, vetiver, patchouli, and labdanum. Created by famed perfumer Olivier Polge, it is interesting and mysterious, and the glass vessel is sure to grab the spotlight on your vanity.

  1. I've been in love with the scent since the sample strip in Town & Country bewitched me a few months back...yup I'll admit to saving & savuering that paper strip for several days, finally heading to Niemans.

  3. I have to say regardless of the fragrance the ad is beautiful. I have been reading about Cristobal Balenciaga like mad lately. pgt
