Mother/daughter design duo's are always fun to cover, given their influence on one another and design dialog that becomes second nature. The New Canaan, Connecticut - based mother-daughter interior design firm and retail design shop Boxwood Home & Interiors, brings a fresh traditional- with - a - little - contemporary design perspective to New Canaan. After opening September 2009, Petra and Whitney Roberts have been the go-to source for hostess gifts and decorating with flair for the picturesque town. Petra has been designing for years, and Whitney joined her 8 years ago after working for Ralph Lauren. With over 25 years experience , they design projects from gracious formal homes in Connecticut, country retreats in Kiawah, ski houses and beach resort homes in Nantucket and Florida. The end result is modern functionality and comfort with style and sophistication. Visit them at 44 East Avenue as you go down the hill from the center of town.

They get your creative juices flowing and get you excited! This is so important as a designer because it keeps you growing, current and even in some cases ahead of the times," says Petra.
