THE KNIT WIT: D. BRYANT ARCHIE TEXTILES

Inspired by the colors and textiles of Marrakesh, creative spirit D. Bryant Archie turned her dream of creating blankets and pillows into a reality. After a honeymoon in Morocco, her love affair with textiles began. Two years later, her wish to create beautiful blankets became came true, after research and development led her to Peru. She chose to work with sumptuous baby alpaca and found the best hand weavers to create textiles out of the hypoallergenic fiber that has the strength of wool softness of cashmere, making it a wonder to work with.

Bryant is inspired by classic Navajo blankets, African and early American textiles and rich colors. Her take is sophisticated and her designs are easy to live with. I loved her booth at the Gift Show, where her stunning creations made their debut.

An array of woven options look great in a traditional or modern settings.

Blankets have a pattern and texture that looks fresh and modern while remaining rooted in tradition.

Subtle stripes in calm colors make her pillows a welcome addition to a bed or sofa.
Sophisticated solid colors have a textural richness.

A favorite, this new linen pillow looks as though it has existed forever, with its soft palette and thin stripe.
