NOTIONS OF DOMESTIC BLISS

The crafts world is alive and well in England. They support and nurture this community of artisans in the UK, and have a long history of doing so. Basket weaver and artist Ann Nazareth's work makes the mundane magical. Her Notions of Domestic Idyll collection takes everyday functional objects and elevates them to art, where they are recreated out of humble twine. Based in England, her basket maker paper cord woven creations simulate the real thing, with an artisan angle and artistic bent. How quaint basket weaving seems, but her three dimensional pieces are anything but provincial.
