WHAT YOU NEED TO ENJOY YOUR LABOR DAY WEEKEND

Bye bye summer. This gorgeous large scale brown and white High Dive Photo Triptych from Trowbridge just about says it all. The carefree days of summer are coming to a close. Here are some things that can help you make the most of your holiday hurrah weekend.

PLAY HARD:

Get into the game, it's not too late! This Badminton Set is a great deal right now, catalog or online at Restoration Hardware. Speaking of Resto, have you gotten their awe inspiring 5 lb catalog/magazine in the mail yet? Wowza, that thing is big.

WALK TALL:

Keep the spring in your step with these Sardinia Wedge Espadrilles from J. Crew. Get em on sale online.

KEEP IT LIGHT:
Riado's lanterns with rope handles are easy to position and reposition around the porch and walkway. I saw this new one in Vegas at World Market.

CARRY ON:

Carry the Nauti and Co. striped sailcloth Drift Clutch has inner pockets to keep the iphone dry from the occasional wave or Seabreeze spill.

RELAX HERE:
Capture the Riviera Sun Parasol from the Indian Garden Company. The long white fringe makes it.

INSERT YOURSELF HERE:

Sit with an iced tea on this striped awning covered wicker housed beach chair for two.

EAT AND DRINK:

This is some of the nicest stemware and glasses I have ever seen. They look like Italian hand blown glass, right? From Billy Cotton, a new high end high design tabletop brand that puts design and beauty at the forefront. Yes, his name is Billy Cotton. It just sounds so good.

Billy Cotton's Bowls such as these can serve many purposes from kids cereal to hummus on the beach.

Metal flatware with super clean lines and hand dipped enamel handles come in a chic assortment of colors. BC even makes a steak knife. So go ahead and take that steak to the grill at the beach.

Coffee, anyone? I think these are great to have on a boat so a proper cup of hot tea can be had when the squall hits.

GET ORGANIZED:
Store beach towels rolled up neatly in Pehr Designs canvas printed storage totes. Come fall, they can become clutter clearers.

A SWEET TREAT:

Learn how to make good home made ice cream with David Lebovitz's The Perfect Scoop. Trick: when adding fruit, it works well if it is frozen first.

Some of these items would be great for my "cement" garden. The lanterns are great, what is it about rope that instantly makes something more interesting ? Maybe it's the contrast of the natural element and the metal...but i digress.... Enjoy your weekend~best
