I am in the midst of tackling the gift show over the next few days. It is hard to think about the holidays in August, but trade shows force the issue with forward thinking design to generate sales and inspiration to last the next six months. As I sift through my photos, I look forward to sharing my favorite finds with you from the NY Now Gift Show. Once I sort though them, I will bring you the new trends and key items that caught my eye. To tide you over until then, here are some glamorous minerals displayed under glass domes, that I love. Created by Nate Ricketts out of California, the cloches contain a raw natural material displayed with refinement.
Selenite mineral star bursts raised on rods are seen through a glass dome that is mounted on a plexiglass base. The blend of icy crystal and clear glass adds to the allure.
Another version, of small circular geodes look beautiful in blue hues under a high dome of glass. The natural world, contained.
