TURNING THE PAIGE FOR REAL AT ARCHITECTURAL DIGEST

So I felt it coming, maybe too soon, but it has happened. I blogged there was a change in the air last year, but I think the wheels of change have been in motion for that long.
The earth has shifted on its axis and Paige Rense is ending her tenure at Architectural Digest. She has "retired" and just in the nick of time. I cannot wait to have a great new and improved shelter book to get excited about. Just imagine the opportunities! Ideas are bubbling up on who the big contenders are. My money is on Mitchell Owens....where is yours?

My original forecast was a bit premature, but...

TURNING THE PAIGE?

The drums of change continue to beat as loud as ever over at 4 Times Square. With low circulation and dropping ad pages, which industry defining title is looking to make an editorial change after 35 years under the current stewardship? Does this now mean the magazine will change to target to a younger demographic? Stay tuned – we’ll know in 2 weeks time.

Mitchell Owens would be perfect. For far too long, I have viewed this magazine as a corpse on life supports.

p.s. I think you mean "axis" for the shifting of the earth. However, having greater access is exactly what the AD needs.

It is more than time for a huge change at AD. Can't wait to see what is in store with the next editor; I am so tired of the huge egos that have been featured center-stage.

I am delighted to hear it. AD has been dated years now.

While I'm not privy to all the goings-on since I just keep the nose to the grindstone in our studio, I have been so disappointed with AD and felt it did not reflect the hip, fresh forward-thinking feel I so long for in a design publication. Thank you for this post (and of course, all your others) for getting me excited about a new AD.
