SUMMERTIME BLUES

Saying goodbye to Summer...

Summer meals alfresco...
With a festive red and blue palette, interior designer and event planner Hillary Thomas created a summer table with Dransfield and Ross for a One King's Lane party in the Hampton's. If you are celebrating the holiday this weekend, here are some take aways.

Great ideas abound: use a fan as a charger so when guests get warm they can put them to use. Use nature as your guide. Elegant sea fans are tucked into a pretty floral arrangement. With a busy patterned tablecloth, tone down the rest of the scheme with natural neutrals like grasscloth and bamboo. Using colorful stemware always livens things up, and is much more fun than the expected clear glass.

Whoops! This could make you really blue!

Love the table setting - a refreshing take on the red and blue palette. Nantucket smoked bluefish pate is a family favorite - yum (we get our at Gliddens or 167)! And I always try to convince my youngest to get her ice cream in a cup for that very reason! What a cheerful post!

GREAT colors! And the boat picture I adore as a summer wrap up in one image. Love, love, love it :) Happy 4 day week! Kelly
